Philadelphia doesn’t work for me

it is almost 2008. Why do the subway stops still not have led displays telling of the next train arrival. Why cant a person buy tokens at any stop. Why is there only one ticket vendor working for the region rail. Why did this train conductor just charge 4 people each a different fare for going to the same destination.
This city does not work for me.

technologies veil, technology’s veil

civilization must grow & learn to stop retreating behind the many virtualizations of self. cellular phones, email, messaging clients, blogs - beautiful instruments to manifest want and need, illustrate connections and beliefs.

be a responsible human in the network: answer incoming phone calls, return difficult emails, take down away messages, and moderate your comments.

finding comfort in isolation, to disconnect, using the veil of virtualization, will destroy us; crippling our rich and meaningful interactions; reducing every one of us to paranoid narcissists, spokes on a wheel that turns with no guidance from us.

consider the human that is every thumbnail in your handset address book; consider yourself; answer your phone; I am sure they miss holding your hand.
